Spooky Scary Pralines!

We got this idea from one of our Facebook followers whose neighbor used to hand out Praline Popcorn Balls on Halloween!

PRALINE BUTTER-PECAN CRUNCH POPCORN RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

  • 8 cups popped popcorn
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey or agave
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 8 oz pecan peices
  • 1 cup New Orleans Famous Pralines Original (crumbled)

DIRECTIONS:

  • Set oven to 325 degrees.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine butter, honey and brown sugar; cook, and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a full boil.
  • Stir in baking soda (the mixture will foam).
  • In a large bowl, combine popcorn, nuts, and New Orleans Famous Pralines.
  • Pour in the hot syrup; mix well to coat.
  • Spread mixture evenly on a large buttered cookie sheet.
  • Bake, until a deep golden brown (about 15 minutes), stirring every 5 minutes.
  • Cool, and store in a tightly covered container for up to 4 days.

What a genius way to incorporate a little New Orleans French Quarter into your neighborhood this Halloween! Nothing screams witches and ghosts like New Orleans! Fortunately, our pralines are a treat and not a trick!
